Ljubljana Law School Students Visit the Embassy
On Monday, March 27, 2017, a group of 28 senior law students of the University of Ljubljana School of Law (Pravna fakulteta Univerze v Ljubljani), accompanied by Professor Franjo Štiblar, PhD, visited the Slovenian Embassy.
Students were first acquainted with some facts about the mission of the embassy and its range of activities. After the welcoming remarks and the presentation of her consular work by Ms. Tjaša Tanko, economic counselor Ms. Metka Urbas, political counselors Damir Devčič and Borut Žunič and the defense attaché Colonel Mikuž presented the main features of their work.
The discussion was also joined by Ambassador Dr. Božo Cerar, who outlined basic features of work in the field of diplomacy, and answered questions about the Slovenian and American foreign policy priorities and bilateral relations between the two countries.
During their stay in the nation’s capital, in addition to visiting the Slovenian Embassy, the group will also visit the Global Legal Research Center at the Library of Congress, the Pentagon, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Department of State as well as U.S. Congress.
Prior to its visit to Washington, the group visited New York City, including the Slovenian mission to the U.N..
