BOOK EVENT in DC: JELA KREČIČ ŽIŽEK - NONE LIKE HER
Jela Krečič Žižek is a Slovene journalist who came to world attention with her exclusive 2013 interview with Julian Assange. Also a columnist and a philosopher, she has written extensively about film and aesthetics and has co-edited several anthologies of film criticism. Her first novel, one of the inaugural volumes in a new Word Series bringing contemporary Slovene writing to English speakers, is an energetic and finely-observed romantic comedy. Set in Ljubljana, the narrative follows the adventures of the lovelorn Matjaž as he tries to prove that he is over his last girlfriend and ready to move on. The book is structured as a series of first dates and features crisp dialogue and widely contrasting characters.
